Tom Sawyering My Kids

My ten year old and my two year old are the joy in my life.
My two year old suddenly thinks dishes and vaccuuming are the BEST fun he's ever had.
I let him swish warm soapy water around in the sink with a clean cloth and some clean plastic dishes and just mop up the lake afterwards. He's having a blast.
The vaccuum is a noisy toy to him that's loads of fun.

My ten year old used to think this way but now looks forlorn when I ask him to help in these chores.
BUT:
My ten year old has discovered the joy of cooking and suddenly wants to help me with every kitchen task I have related to frying, chopping, sauteeing, peeling, etc.
I'm going to enjoy this while I can!

Am I Tom Sawyering my kids?
Can I convince them that cleaning the toilet and tub are fun?
That laundry is a belly laugh, that sorting the ever growing pile of sorts is like some kind of Mary Poppins scene?
Hmmmm, maybe I'll give it a shot while they're young and think I'm fun :)
