The Sacred Heart Diet Post Mortem. Day 3
I probably could've made it through to seven days but I gave in. This morning I felt like garbage. It felt like I did when I had morning sickness in my first trimester. No throwing up but feeling really really sick. The Sacred Heart Diet is not something I could finish this time around. My husband said he'd rather detox with herbs than by cutting out meat and carbs again.
We were arguing and miserable and both feeling lousy. Then, we found out we were having company today. I was pretty sure they didn't want to eat vegetable soup and salad for dinner. We have our anniversary tomorrow--I was bummed about not being able to go out for dinner.
I ate a handful of grapes half way through the morning and took a shower and went into town and started to feel better. My husband and I were still bickering though and we mutually decided to pack it in.
I felt like I might be at a turning point for feeling ill but was certainly not about to continue being deprived while watching him eat meat so we went for a chicken parmiagiana sandwich at a restaurant and called it a day.
All in all, he lost 3lbs, I lost 2 in 2.5 days. I don't know what the full results would've been and maybe I would've had an easier time after today. I have a full batch of soup now in the fridge (will likely freeze it) and a fridge full of fruits and vegetables so I think we'll still eat all the food we're supposed to for the detox but will add in a serving or two of meat each day and bread too.
