Big or Small--Boys will be Boys.

There's something endearing about watching boys play together.
I have two parallel universes to watch right now. It's rather amusing. I can peer out at one through my front window to the driveway where a few adult men are trying
to fix the lawnmower or to my back window to the yard where there are boys trying to catch frogs.

Front yard:
Men crouched around a lawnmower to determine how to make it work
Backyard:
boys crouched by the lake, looking for frogs
Both: in their element

Front yard:
Men wearing shorts, some with no shirts drinking beer and showing bum cracks
Backyard:
Boys wearing shorts, some with no shirts eating popsicles and some showing bum cracks.
both: enjoying their remedy for hot weather and not caring what they look like.

Both: Smelling rather funky after several hours in the son.
Front yard:
Sweaty b/o smell mixed with gasoline
Backyard:
Sweaty, vinegary dirty boy smell mixed with smell of dirt.

Both: Lots of laughter at silly jokes that girls don't like much
Both:: will leave rings in the tub tonight
Both: Occasionally spat about the best way to ______ (insert either fix a lawnmower OR catch a frog)

Both: Had a good day today.
They're all in their element.
It's endearing to watch these simple yet complex boys who are in different stages of their lives but essentially doing the same thing.
They smell, they're bonding, they're happy.
Boys will be Boys.
