I Feel Bad for the (canned) Spam Company

I mean, canned Spam is gross, I know but the poor company...it only takes a bit of negative word of mouth to create a negative association for you, doesn't it?
Someone decided to call internet junkmail 'Spam' and it stuck and is now more commonly used than the original canned lunchmeat and whoever it was that named it.

If I were to Google the term 'spam' I'd expect to take pages and pages of scrolling to get to the actual canned meat company, Hormel.
(I just tried it and they were hit # 2 out of 570,000,000 so I guess they pay a pretty penny to ensure they're indexed properly! Can you believe there's an actual Spam fanclub and Spam gift store There's also a cartoon picture of a Spam Mobile.. What? CRAZY!)

A few years back, a kid I knew said that if you wore GAP clothes, it meant you were 'Gay And Proud).
I shake my head.
It only takes one smartass kid to ruin an empire doesn't it?
I guess it didn't stick because GAP stores are probably more profitable than ever.

Part of me is sick of Spam (the junkmail kind) but I guess I spam the net on the daily basis flogging my words of wisdom and babbbling my drivel so Spam is sort of a neccesary evil
