I haven't been here in a while and it's not Saturday but today's post is going to offer up some link love to myself for some recent undertakings.
DanaPrinceWriting.com is my new(ish) professional writing services website and contains Customer Connections a blog targeted at those wanting SEO writing services.
I've also recently created cerealdieter.com for helpful diet and weight loss information as well as SacredHeartSoup.com which is dedicated to the popular weight loss and detox cleanse.
Soon to come will be some projects in other niches but this is the love I wanted to share for now.

Why We Quit The Sacred Heart Diet on Day Three
The Sacred Heart Diet Post Mortem. Day 3
I probably could've made it through to seven days but I gave in. This morning I felt like garbage. It felt like I did when I had morning sickness in my first trimester. No throwing up but feeling really really sick. The Sacred Heart Diet is not something I could finish this time around. My husband said he'd rather detox with herbs than by cutting out meat and carbs again.
We were arguing and miserable and both feeling lousy. Then, we found out we were having company today. I was pretty sure they didn't want to eat vegetable soup and salad for dinner. We have our anniversary tomorrow--I was bummed about not being able to go out for dinner.
I ate a handful of grapes half way through the morning and took a shower and went into town and started to feel better. My husband and I were still bickering though and we mutually decided to pack it in.
I felt like I might be at a turning point for feeling ill but was certainly not about to continue being deprived while watching him eat meat so we went for a chicken parmiagiana sandwich at a restaurant and called it a day.
All in all, he lost 3lbs, I lost 2 in 2.5 days. I don't know what the full results would've been and maybe I would've had an easier time after today. I have a full batch of soup now in the fridge (will likely freeze it) and a fridge full of fruits and vegetables so I think we'll still eat all the food we're supposed to for the detox but will add in a serving or two of meat each day and bread too.

My Sacred Heart Diet Journal, Day 2
Today on the sacred heart diet menu was more soup and vegetables. Last night wasn't hard until bedtime when my 3 yr old talked about what he wanted for breakfast. Toast and cheese. Those are two things I adore that I can't eat right now. My stomach grumbled very loudly! I wasn't hungry but was craving dairy and carbs.I enjoyed the soup yesterday and the fruit. At bedtime though my pants wouldn't stay done up. I was wearing velcro zipped capris and kept hearing a loud rrrrrrrrip. lol.
I was up two lbs at bedtime and bloated. So much soup and vegetables. I had 2 bowls and two mugs.
Today, Day 2: I wasn't hungry until lunch and ate a giant salad with the hellmann's spritzer's italian dressing (sparingly) and a big bowl of soup. I enjoyed it.
This aft. we went shopping though and when I walked into the grocery store, there's a deli/prepared food's counter and I could smell fries and roasted chicken. My tummy hurt and I felt absolutely famished.
I had a lot of diarrhea this a.m. and ended up down to 134 afterwards. tomorrow's weigh-in should be interesting.
For dinner I stir fried some steamed vegetables in a little butter and a lot of spices and we ate a baked potato and a half a bowl of soup. I'm stuffed. I also ate a few handfuls of baby carrots this aft.
My husband got ticked this aft because Sunday is our anniversary and I absentmindedly suggested going out for dinner. He threatened to bite me. LOL.

My Sacred Heart Diet Journal, Day 1
My husband and I are doing the SHD diet, Sacred Heart, aka Cabbage Soup or Mayo Clinic diet. I've blogged and written about this diet many times but am finally doing it. I don't have a real weight loss need but am looking forward to maybe 5lbs and detox benefits. my husband is getting fit and doesn't need to lose weight at all but wants to detox. He wanted to do this ages ago but works out and was worried about lack of energy from the reduced diet and lack of protein. He's taking a break this week between workout schedule changes to it's a perfect time. We started today because next weekend is a long weekend and we have guests coming. It's a good idea to do it this week as well because our kids are going away with their grandparents the day after tomorrow for a week so we only have to worry about ourselves for cooking after the weekend.
My starting weight: 136lbs
Husband: 153.
Today's diet: all the sacred heart soup and fruit we can eat.
Here's what I put in the soup:
2 cans tomatoes
1 can chicken broth
4 cups green tea
a few handfuls of chopped carrots
several torn leaves of cabbage
4 stalks celery
1 envelope lipton soup (chicken noodle)
1/2 chopped green pepper
2 chopped green onions
spices: cracked pepper, salt, mrs. dash, worcestershire sauce
I've stocked up on canteloupse, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, apples, some dole fruit salad and a pineapple although can't imagine eating all that today.
Tonight we'll go to the grocery store to buy vegetables for tomorrow as we'll be eating soup & vegetables all day tomorrow.
The soup tastes fine. It's almost exactly like a soup my mother made weekly for us as kids although hers had lots of macaroni in it (she called it macaroni soup)and a few less tomatoes and vegetables.
I'll be back sometime tomorrow to talk about my day 2.
Cheers,
Dana
